Course Description

Learn the basics of the Android smartphone. This class covers settings, managing phone calls, surfing the internet, sending email and text messages with attachments, managing contacts, making WiFi and Bluetooth connections, utilizing Google voice commands, taking photos and videos, viewing and editing photos, using Cloud storage, social media and maps, working with apps, and enhancing security measures for your Android.

Materials needed for class:

  • An activated Android Phone
  • Gmail Password (participants may need their password for downloading apps)


Cancellation Policy

Cancellation must be received in writing at least one week before the start of classes. You will be issued a refund, less a $10 administrative fee. Please contact Student Services, stuserv@unc.edu.

Alternatively, participant substitutions are welcome. If you cannot attend an event, you can contact us with the name of the individual who will take your place.

In-Person Course

This course takes place in-person at the Friday Center for Continuing Education.
